Winter Spirit You’re old and bearded, frail and weak. You’ve teeth that are rotting, and a smile that ruptures your skin. You dress royally, a cross-dressing ballet dancer that’s grown old, but never lost the spirit of the dance. You sing and shout merrily, dancing atop rooftops with the glee of a five year old, echoing the spirits you inspire. The saddest thing is, however, that you’re long dead and buried. Age Scattered tiles, smashed and torn,
Windows broken, driveway worn,
Fallen leaves from years ago,
Cobwebs strewn like dusty snow.

Spiders, moths, and unwashed socks,
Creaking floors and long-lost locks.
Books hiding ‘neath broken stairs,
Remnants of forgotten cares.

In one room, pink and sprightly still
There lies upon the window sill
A crumpled poster, left to rot:
It bears the words ‘Princess of Pop’.
KFC Obsessive - a.k.a WTF? Well, I was sittin’ lickin’ chicken,
Flickin’ through the bony bits when
You came down and sat right next to me.

You started spittin’ in your drink n’
Sittin’ in a sickened fit n’
Complainin’ ‘cos this was KFC.

I didn’t know you.

“Get out my face bitch, with your face lifts,
All your nail varnish, curved hips,
I don’t know you, I don’t want to,
Leave me to my chicken, won’t you?”

And then you left.

Well, I was sittin’ lickin’ chicken.
Flickin’ through the bony bits when
I decided that I wanted to go pee.

Fast Food A cheap burger:
Dressed in onions, rotting salad,
Fake meat with splurged radish.
Your lettuce coloured-eyes
Trickle moistly with cheap sauces,
Made up to look so pretty,
With a foul taste left inside.

As I walk towards you:
Vibrations tearing through the ground
Until it splits and you fall down,
And I realise you fell into a crack
A crack that formed ‘cos I was walking towards you like that.

And I leap down with my cape, flying,
Burning through the sky,
Until it crumples like paper,
Sizzled to a crisp,
And I realise that when I tried
To save you from falling down the crack
I actually just burnt your hair.

And so I sprint towards the wig shop
Pushing people off the pavement,
And then I realise that
I left a trail of people in the middle of the road
And caused gridlock through

About two thirds of size of the original image, because watermarking would seem way too interruptive and I don't want it to be stolen. :psychotic:

Taken at 1/2500th of a second with a flash, focussed using manual macro focus. It was very hard getting the focussing right, the position of the fly in the flash right, AND making sure the fly didn't run away. Heh. I took a lot of photos trying to get a good one, this one's probably the best I got. :bucktooth:

Cropped in photoshop, but taken at a high resolution.

In terms of macro photography, you've got it perfect. I would just clean up the surroundings a bit more in photoshop (there are some greyish spots around the fly)

Hehe, thanks. :) I can't see the point in cleaning up the greyish areas etc., they're just shadows and the surface that the fly was on. I can't be bothered. ;p

I didn't get a close up of this fly. Okay, I shall change my mind. I don't like it when it really flies. I like it when I sits there. Again, I wish I didn't say that before. I didn't look at the fly.
